A large fire at a chicken farm outside Perstorp has killed around 48,000 chickens. The alarm came shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and no people were injured.
Rescue services were alerted to the site outside Perstorp shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. When crews arrived eleven minutes later the fire was fully developed in the more than 90-metre-long building.
Personnel from four stations with 14 fire engines worked to stop the blaze from spreading to nearby silos and forest. Officials confirmed that the entire poultry house was destroyed.
Police do not suspect any crime in connection with the fire. Rescue services expect to remain at the scene through the evening and night.
