Aaron Donald has signaled he is weighing a return to the NFL two years after retiring. The move comes after the Los Angeles Rams traded for Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns.
Donald, a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, retired after the 2023 season. On Tuesday he exchanged messages with several contacts, including Pat McAfee and Jordan Schultz, stating the trade had prompted fresh thoughts. It for sure got me thinking, Donald wrote to McAfee. I'm for sure flirting with the idea, he told Schultz, adding that the Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium this season could be an incentive. Rams coach Sean McVay expressed openness to the possibility during a Tuesday media session. Teammates Michael Brockers and LeSean McCoy, along with rookie Jaylen Watson, also reported recent contact with Donald indicating he is staying in shape and has not ruled out playing again.
