Apple plans split release for iPhone 18 series

Apple is set to release its premium iPhone 18 models in fall 2026 while shifting more affordable versions to spring 2027. The change marks a departure from the company's usual single-fall launch cycle. Rumors also point to a new foldable device joining the lineup.

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected in September alongside a foldable model referred to as the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra. That foldable device is projected to start above $2,000. Standard models including the iPhone 18, iPhone 18E and a second-generation iPhone Air are scheduled for February or March 2027.
