Apple TV+ sets July 8 premiere for Trying season 5

Apple TV+ has announced that the UK comedy Trying returns for its fifth season on July 8. The eight-episode run will air weekly, concluding on August 26. Rafe Spall and Esther Smith reprise their roles as adoptive parents Jason and Nikki.

Trying, which debuted in 2020, follows Jason and Nikki, a couple who faced fertility struggles before adopting Princess and Tyler. In season 5, the pair confronts upheaval when the children's biological mother, Kat, arrives at their door, per the official synopsis. This marks one of Apple TV+'s longest-running original series, alongside Slow Horses and For All Mankind, according to TVLine, which first reported the news. TVLine has learned of the premiere date ahead of the summer release. The supporting cast features Darren Boyd, Sian Brooke, Celia Imrie, Phil Davis, Gbemisola Ikumelo and Colin Morgan. Scarlett Rayner plays Princess, Cooper Turner portrays Tyler and Charlotte Riley appears as Kat. Episodes will drop weekly after the July 8 debut on Wednesdays.
