Aston Villa have agreed to sign Alejandro Garnacho on an initial loan deal from Chelsea. The agreement includes conditions that could turn the move permanent.
The 22-year-old forward is expected to join after a disappointing spell at Chelsea. Reports indicate the temporary deal will become permanent if certain conditions are met, with Garnacho then signing a four-year contract at Villa Park.
The move follows Chelsea's signing of midfielder Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa in a £117 million deal. Rogers, an England international, left after Aston Villa's successful previous campaign that included winning the Europa League and finishing fourth in the Premier League.
Aston Villa have also seen Youri Tielemans depart for Manchester United. In response, the club signed midfielder Joao Gomes and Switzerland World Cup star Johan Manzambi. Garnacho, a 2024 Copa America winner, recorded one goal and four assists in 24 Premier League appearances during his time at Chelsea.
Villa manager Unai Emery is set to work with the player as the team aims to maintain its upward trajectory.
