Avalanche acquire Lysell from Bruins in player swap

The Colorado Avalanche have acquired forward Fabian Lysell from the Boston Bruins in exchange for forward Ivan Ivan. The deal was completed ahead of the 2026 offseason.

The trade brings the 23-year-old Lysell to Colorado after he spent his first four AHL seasons with the Providence Bruins. In 2025-26 he recorded 17 goals and 25 assists for 42 points in 57 games.

Lysell was Boston's first-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. He has played 12 NHL games with the Bruins and tallied one goal and two assists. His AHL career totals stand at 57 goals and 106 assists in 219 games.

Ivan, also 23, posted 11 goals and 15 assists in 66 regular-season games with the Colorado Eagles in 2025-26. He added 15 points in 17 playoff games as the Eagles reached the Western Conference Finals.

The move gives Lysell a fresh opportunity with one of the NHL's top clubs after limited playing time in Boston.
