Avelo Airlines marked its fifth anniversary since launching in 2021, emphasizing growth at Wilmington Airport in Delaware. The carrier has served over 9.3 million customers and now offers 11 nonstop destinations from the airport. Founder Andrew Levy highlighted the airline's mission to inspire travel with affordable fares.

Since then, the airline has operated more than 74,000 flights overall, including 7,000 from ILG, and carried over 950,000 customers through Wilmington out of 9.3 million total passengers. Its network now spans 34 destinations and nearly 60 routes, with more than 1,000 crewmembers employed, including over 130 based in Wilmington. Currently, nonstop flights from Wilmington serve Daytona Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Myrtle Beach, Orlando, Orlando/Lakeland, San Juan, Sarasota/Bradenton, Tampa, West Palm Beach, and Wilmington, North Carolina. Avelo Founder and CEO Andrew Levy said, “Five years ago Avelo took flight with a simple but powerful purpose – to Inspire Travel.
