Kazuo Ueda has been discharged from hospital, the Bank of Japan said. The 74-year-old governor was admitted on June 9 for treatment of a liver cyst infection.

The Bank of Japan announced the discharge on June 19. Ueda did not attend a policy meeting held earlier that week due to his hospitalization.
