Persib Bandung coach Bojan Hodak has stated the team will not make major purchases in the January 2026 transfer window. He is only seeking one foreign player to replace Wiliam Marcilio who can start immediately. This decision stems from the stable performance of the Maung Bandung squad, which secured 10 wins in their last 12 matches.
Bandung – Persib Bandung coach Bojan Hodak has emphasized that the team is not rushing to sign new players as the January 2026 transfer window opens. This statement was made to reporters on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, amid the strong and competitive performance of Maung Bandung.
According to the Croatian coach, Persib will only bring in one foreign player to replace the departed Wiliam Marcilio. The new signing must be ready to play in the starting eleven immediately, without needing extended adaptation. "I have said before that we do not need to spend a lot of money. If we want to bring someone in, we must find a player who can really play in the starting eleven," Hodak said.
Hodak highlighted the team's positive record in the last 12 matches, where Persib achieved 10 victories. Their only loss was an away game against Malut United, attributed to a tight schedule. Meanwhile, their performance against a Singapore team was deemed good, though they failed to capitalize on chances. "Actually, we are already playing well. That's why we don't need to splash out a lot of money," he added.
Nevertheless, Hodak left open the possibility of limited signings, including one or two local players. However, no final decisions have been made yet. He also denied rumors of pursuits for names like Maarten Paes, Joey Pelupessy, and Ole Romeny, stating there has been no communication with those players. With the current squad composition, Persib is confident in competing without major changes.
