Boox has teased the Picco, a pocket-sized e-reader with a 3.97-inch monochrome e-paper display. The device is smaller than the Xteink X4 Pro and includes a front-lit screen plus microSD support.
The company announced the Picco as the first product in a new category of e-paper devices with diverse form factors. It can store thousands of books on an 8GB microSD card, making it suitable for extended use such as vacations.
Boox has not yet released details on weight, battery life, price or release date. The firm indicated the device will have an accessible price point, comparable to the Xteink X4 Pro which costs $100.
Further specifications are expected in the near future. The announcement has drawn attention from users considering similar compact e-readers.
