Bruno Guimaraes informs Newcastle of Arsenal transfer desire

Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has told the club he wants to join Arsenal this summer. The 28-year-old Brazil international made the request amid interest from the Premier League champions.

Guimaraes informed Newcastle of his wish to leave and move to Arsenal, according to reports from The Athletic. Arsenal are prepared to pay up to £60 million for the player but had an earlier verbal offer below that amount rejected.

Newcastle have stated they do not want to sell the midfielder and no formal contact has taken place between the clubs. Guimaraes has two years remaining on his contract, which he extended in October 2023.

The request comes after Newcastle already sold Anthony Gordon to Barcelona for £69.3 million this summer. Sandro Tonali also departed for Tottenham in a deal that could reach £100 million.
