Buddy Guy to mark 90th birthday with all-star concert

Buddy Guy will celebrate his upcoming 90th birthday with a concert at New York's Radio City Music Hall on Oct. 1. The event, titled Buddy’s Got the Blues, will feature performances by Eric Clapton, John Mayer, and many other artists.

The blues guitarist, who turns 90 next month, is set to perform at the show. Steve Jordan of the Rolling Stones will serve as musical director.

A wide range of musicians are confirmed to take part, including Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, Jon Batiste, Aloe Blacc, Joe Bonamassa, Gary Clark Jr., Shemekia Copeland, Robert Cray, Samantha Fish, Eric Gales, Billy F. Gibbons, Ivan Neville, Robert Randolph, Bobby Rush, Isaiah Sharkey, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jimmie Vaughan, Ally Venable, Willie Weeks, and Kim Wilson.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. ET on Friday. Guy said in a statement, “Can’t wait to celebrate 90 years of living, loving, and playing the blues with all my friends.”
