Carlos Sainz has expressed a desire to race at the 24 Hours of Le Mans once his Formula 1 career ends. The Williams driver shared the goal during a recent podcast discussion with teammate Alex Albon.
Sainz, 31, said he sees himself competing in other categories after leaving F1. "I really want to do Le Mans," he stated on the Team Torque podcast.
He also mentioned the possibility of a GT3 campaign with friends for enjoyment. "If you put together a good GT3 team that I know I would have fun with, I could have fun with that," Sainz added.
The Spaniard currently sits 15th in the drivers' standings with six points. Williams ranks ninth in the constructors' championship with 11 points.
The F1 season will resume after the summer break with the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort from 21 to 23 August.
