Chanel Beads announces follow-up album Your Day Will Come

Shane Lavers of Chanel Beads has revealed details for a new album titled Your Day Will Come, the same name as his 2024 debut. The record arrives June 26 on Jagjaguwar and features the new single “Song for the Messenger” with an atmospheric grayscale video. Contributors include familiar names from the previous album along with new collaborators.

Shane Lavers announced the follow-up to Chanel Beads' 2024 debut album Your Day Will Come. The new project shares the same title and is scheduled for release on June 26 via Jagjaguwar. It incorporates last year's track “The Coward Forgets His Nightmare” alongside fresh material, as detailed in a Pitchfork report. The video for the lead single “Song for the Messenger” is presented in grayscale tones and carries a trigger warning for those afraid of snakes. Lavers described the song in a press release, saying, “This song is laughing at me. Like looking over your shoulder and walking off a cliff. The video is about no fear.” The album boasts contributions from violinist Zachary Paul and singer Maya McGrory, both of whom appeared on the prior Chanel Beads record. Additional guests include More Eaze, Anastasia Coope, and Tchad Cousins from Urika’s Bedroom. The tracklist spans 14 songs, starting with “Drums Only” and “Song for the Messenger,” and ending with “Beaten With Sticks.” The original Your Day Will Come ranked No. 46 on Pitchfork's list of the 50 Best Albums of 2024.
