This top prize was mainly sold in Madrid and León towns: La Bañeza (117 series), Villablino (50 series), and La Pola de Gordón (15 series), according to Loterías y Apuestas del Estado data. In La Bañeza, a town of 11,000 residents hit by summer fires and a factory closure in July, the prize fell to a youth soccer club, sparking local euphoria.
In Marbella, Bar El Leonés, run by José Charro from Quintana del Marco in León, distributed 120 million euros by selling about 300 tenths of the winner. Charro, who has played this number for 36 years buying it in his hometown, plans to retire after this stroke of luck. "One of the prettiest little villages in all of León," he described his birthplace. His family kept one tenth, earmarking it for vacations and treats for the grandchild on the way.
Among the lucky in Marbella is Daniel, a taxi driver who won 800,000 euros with two tenths. "I still can't believe it. I never thought this could really happen to me," he recounted emotionally, planning to buy a home, a taxi license, and help his parents. Guillermo, a Colombian mechanic with four children, got 1,200,000 euros with three tenths and hopes to retire: "It's about time." Viviana, also Colombian, celebrated 400,000 euros to "plug holes."
The second prize (70.048, 125,000 euros per tenth) was sold in Madrid's Chueca and Vigo, while the third (90.693, 50,000 euros) spread across Spain, including Zamora and Alicante. The fourth prizes (78.477 and 25.508, 20,000 euros each) landed in Cazorla (Jaén) and Moraira (Alicante), and the fifths (various numbers, 6,000 euros) brought joy to places like Andorra (Teruel), where a family picked 23.112 after hearing "voices" the night before.
Prizes can be claimed from the afternoon of December 22 for three months; amounts under 2,000 euros via Bizum, and over 40,000 euros are taxed at 20% by Hacienda.
