Converse debuts First String Chuck Taylor with Italian leather weave

Converse has launched a new First String Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker featuring hand-woven Italian leather. Artisans in Italy crafted the luxurious brown upper with an embroidered snake detail. The model includes premium features like Vibram outsoles and cushioning from Converse CX foam and Nike Air.

The Chuck Taylor All Star Woven Leather belongs to Converse's First String line, known for high-end materials and construction. Italian craftsmen spent hours weaving the leather, adding a snake embroidery that weaves through the design. This release follows previous First String models with snakeskin and premium leather finishes, elevating the classic Chuck Taylor silhouette to luxury levels reminiscent of Bottega Veneta techniques, though adapted for the All Star style. Converse backs the brand through Nike, incorporating advanced elements like grippy Vibram soles for traction and a blend of Converse CX foam with Nike Air for enhanced comfort underfoot. The sneakers are scheduled for release on May 5 at select retailers. Pricing is expected to align with recent First String offerings, around $250 or higher due to the Italian craftsmanship and materials.
