Dan Trachtenberg signs first-look deal with Paramount

Director Dan Trachtenberg has entered a three-year first-look directing and producing deal with Paramount Pictures. The agreement allows him to develop, direct, and produce feature projects alongside partner Ben Rosenblatt. This marks a reunion with the studio following his 2016 hit 10 Cloverfield Lane.

Paramount Pictures announced on February 5, 2026, that it has signed acclaimed director and producer Dan Trachtenberg to a three-year first-look deal. Under the agreement, Trachtenberg and his producing partner Ben Rosenblatt will collaborate on developing, directing, and producing new feature films for the studio.

Trachtenberg expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “As a kid I remember seeing the Paramount logo and dreaming of the epic adventure that would follow…now to have the opportunity to bring new huge and emotional stories to giant screens is literally a dream come true.” He added, “Ben and I cannot wait to join Dana, Josh, Don, and the entire Paramount team in pursuing our shared vision of making Paramount once again the apex of cinema.”

Paramount Pictures Co-Chairs Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg praised Trachtenberg's talents, saying, “Dan has an extraordinary ability to deliver films that are both daring and deeply entertaining. He has a rare instinct for tension, scale, and storytelling that connects with audiences worldwide. We’re excited to welcome him to the studio.”

This deal reunites Trachtenberg with Paramount, where he launched his feature directing career with the 2016 thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane, which the studio released. Rosenblatt co-produced that film and has since worked on projects including the Snowpiercer and Ripley series, as well as Trachtenberg's Predator franchise entries.

Trachtenberg's recent successes include directing Predator: Badlands for 20th Century Studios, a critical and commercial hit, following his animated feature Predator: Killer of Killers, released on Hulu in June. He previously helmed Prey, a reimagining of the Predator franchise centering on a young Comanche woman defending her community. Trachtenberg is represented by CAA, Untitled, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
