President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez visited the municipalities of Regla and Guanabacoa on Tuesday afternoon to assess local priorities with municipal defense councils.
President Díaz-Canel, joined by Roberto Morales Ojeda and other leaders, met with presidents of the municipal defense councils in Regla, the 12th municipality visited recently. Discussions focused on food production, solid waste collection, support for the vulnerable and integration of economic actors.
In Regla, emphasis was placed on identifying people disconnected from education or employment and assessing the four Family Care Systems. Guanabacoa, the 13th municipality visited, faces challenges with 115 housing complexes and more than 10,000 people in vulnerable situations.
Díaz-Canel highlighted taking advantage of the 176 economic and social transformations, of which 80 already have approved content backed by 57 legal norms. The Community Youth Network was also discussed for its support to the elderly and pregnant women.
