Dismembered body found in suitcase in São Paulo's south zone

A dismembered and headless body was discovered inside a black suitcase in a stream on the Ecoturística Road in Parelheiros, south zone of São Paulo, on Thursday (19). The find was made by a backhoe operator who noticed red liquid leaking from the bag. Authorities called firefighters and police to investigate the case.

On the morning of February 19, 2026, a backhoe operator working near the Ecoturística Road in Parelheiros spotted a black suitcase in the water of a stream under a bridge. He saw that the bag was closed but leaking a red liquid, apparently blood, with a black flip-flop nearby.

The operator alerted nearby Metropolitan Civil Guard (GCM) agents. According to the police report accessed by Folha, the agents saw the suitcase torn near the zipper, containing bundles in black plastic bags secured with adhesive tape. Human body parts were visible, with the sex not immediately identifiable, along with a pair of flip-flops.

The GCMs reported the incident to the 25th Police District (Parelheiros). A Police Military team arrived and, fearing heavy rains that could raise the water level and move the suitcase, called the Fire Department. The firefighters removed the suitcase from the water.

The Homicide and Protection of Persons Department (DHPP) and the Scientific Police were summoned to examine the scene and the body. A TV Band report states that experts identified the victim as a woman, with no head found. The body has two tattoos, one on the hand and one on the back, which may help in identification.

The Public Security Secretariat (SSP) did not confirm the information at the time of publication. The case is being investigated by the 25th Police District.
