After Garrick Higgo was hit with a two-shot penalty for arriving late to his first-round tee time at the PGA Championship, ESPN highlighted the mishap on Friday with a live countdown clock during its second-round broadcast at Aronimink.
Higgo explained after his round that he reached the tee area at 7:18:30. He had aimed to arrive five minutes early but became too casual with his timing and paid the price with the penalty under Rule 5.3a. Despite the setback from Thursday, he shot one under par on Friday and remained in contention for the cut line.
