Family appeals for help in missing KMTC accountant's case

The family of 38-year-old Caroline Mokeira, a senior accountant at Kenya Medical Training College's Kapenguria Campus, is pleading with authorities to urgently investigate her disappearance since October 17. They suspect her husband and criticize the police for inaction, including failing to question him or follow leads like her phone traced to Uganda. The father expresses desperation for any news on her status.

Caroline Mokeira, a 38-year-old mother of three and senior accountant at KMTC Kapenguria Campus, vanished on Friday, October 17, 2025, from her home in Kibomet. She was last seen leaving with her husband, despite both their cars remaining parked in the compound, as confirmed by the househelp who said the husband parked them.

Three days prior, on October 14, Mokeira and her husband were attacked by unknown assailants, raising family suspicions of foul play. The family believes she would never abandon her children and points to her husband as the primary suspect, yet police from Kimilili Station have not questioned him.

On Sunday, October 26, her father spoke to journalists, voicing his anguish: "I am begging you, it is very hard for me to sleep. I wake up at night to check my phone to see whether there is any news on my daughter, and I find it blank." He added, "I would be very happy to know her whereabouts. Even if she is dead or alive, I will be grateful."

A relative echoed the frustration: "The police should arrest the husband, as he is the first suspect. The county commander should also take over this matter because we do not have trust in the Kimilili Police Station."

The family claims Mokeira's phone was traced to Uganda, but no action followed. They urge the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to intervene for closure in this over-a-week-old mystery.
