Federal Police concludes Flávio Bolsonaro committed calumny against Lula

The Federal Police concluded that Senator Flávio Bolsonaro falsely imputed crimes to President Lula in a January social media post.

The Federal Police concluded on Friday, June 26, 2026, the report of the inquiry into Flávio Bolsonaro’s post on X. The document was sent to Supreme Court Minister Alexandre de Moraes.

In the January 3, 2026 publication, the senator wrote that “Lula will be denounced” and linked the president to “international drug and arms trafficking, money laundering”. The PF assessed that the message falsely imputed these crimes to Lula.

The inquiry was authorized by Moraes in April. After the report is sent, the case will go to the Attorney General’s Office. Flávio’s defense argued that the post referred only to the crimes for which Maduro is accused.
