Ferdy Sambo issued an official statement rejecting any film or similar adaptation of his life story without permission.
The former head of the National Police's Profession and Security Division stated that he has not granted permission to anyone for interviews or to produce works based on his life journey. The statement was released via the official Instagram account @ferdysambo_official on 15 July 2026.
Sambo emphasized that if any party proceeds with a film or other product without written approval, criminal and civil legal steps will be taken. He also prohibited the use of content from the Instagram account without admin consent.
At the same time, his son Tribrata Putra graduated from Akpol 2026. Sambo, who is serving a life sentence at Lapas Kelas IIA Cibinong, continues to communicate with his family through letters and has written the book Ibadah di Balik Jeruji.
