Flaming Lips cancel Vienna show due to Wayne Coyne pneumonia

The Flaming Lips have canceled their concert in Vienna after frontman Wayne Coyne was hospitalized with pneumonia. The band announced the decision on social media and offered refunds to ticket holders.

The Grammy-winning psychedelic rock band was scheduled to perform at Gasometer in Vienna on June 15 as part of their European tour. Coyne was ordered to bed rest, prompting the cancellation.

In a statement posted on Instagram the group said they were sorry for the change and confirmed all refunds would be available from the point of purchase. They expressed hope to return to Austria in the future.

The band has several remaining European dates in Italy, Prague, Serbia, Croatia and Greece. No announcements have been made about whether those shows will proceed as planned.

Their UK and Ireland leg begins July 16 in Galway with additional festival appearances scheduled through the end of the month.
