Game of Thrones: War for Westeros RTS delayed to 2027

PlaySide Studios has delayed the release of its real-time strategy game Game of Thrones: War for Westeros to early 2027. The studio cited the need for additional development time to meet quality goals. The title was previously scheduled for 2026.

The Australian developer announced the shift in an update to the game's development blog. Officials stated that the extra time will allow the team to deliver an experience that satisfies both RTS fans and Game of Thrones enthusiasts.

"This decision gives us the time needed to continue building towards that goal and ensure that the game reaches the high level of quality we are aiming for," the studio said. It also thanked players for their patience.

Game of Thrones: War for Westeros was first revealed in June 2025. Players will command one of several factions, including House Stark, House Lannister, House Targaryen, or the Night King’s Army of the Dead, in battles for the Iron Throne.
