Presidential spokesperson Adrián Ravier caused internal discomfort by stating that a dollar at 1,700 or 1,800 pesos is a possibility in the coming months.
President Javier Milei is not considering removing Ravier, although the Executive seeks to prevent new statements that could affect the economic strategy.
The opposition questioned the official's words. Deputy Pablo Todero posted on X that Ravier "spat on the barbecue" and linked the remarks to a possible devaluation and fuel price increases.
Ravier linked the tension to Donald Trump's tariffs but assured it does not alter the stabilization plan. The latest REM from the BCRA projects a dollar at 1,482 pesos for July and 1,673 for December 2026.
