Grand Theft Auto 6 has reached the top of the PlayStation Store in nearly every region since pre-orders began on 25 June. The Ultimate Edition leads revenue-based rankings across the US, UK, Japan and major European countries. The game remains unavailable in places such as Kuwait and Taiwan where it is banned.
Rockstar Games confirmed the 19 November release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Physical copies will contain only a download code and no disc.
Current and former staff are pushing for official recognition of the Rockstar Game Workers Union before the November launch. The union, formed in late May as part of the Independent Workers' Union of Great Britain, follows the dismissal of dozens of developers in 2025.
Rockstar described those dismissals as resulting from gross misconduct. Union representatives have invited the company to talks and warned that a strike could follow if voluntary recognition is refused. Pre-orders are reported to have already exceeded $3 billion.
