Guild Wars series gets first CCG with Mistbound reveal

ArenaNet has licensed the Guild Wars intellectual property for a new free-to-play collectible card game called Mistbound. The title is being developed by Korean studio NC and published by Bilibili for PC and mobile platforms.

Mistbound marks the first CCG spin-off in the long-running MMO franchise. Gameplay takes place on a 5x3 grid where players select commanders and deploy cards in turn-based battles that allow movement in multiple directions.

Commanders drawn from previous Guild Wars titles bring unique passive traits and active abilities inspired by Guild Wars 2 professions. The game will include both single-player and PvP modes along with music from the original Guild Wars composers and full voice acting.

No details on monetization or a release date have been shared. Players can track updates through the official website. The announcement follows the recent reveal of Guild Wars 3 at Summer Game Fest.
