Jack York leaves AIK for Norwegian club Nidaros

Canadian defenseman Jack York has signed a one-year contract with Nidaros in Norway's top league after one season with AIK.

The 25-year-old left Sweden following the end of the season. York arrived at AIK last summer from Canadian university hockey and recorded seven points in 37 HockeyAllsvenskan games.

No extension was agreed with the Swedish club. York has now joined his second European team by moving to Nidaros.

The transfer was confirmed on July 5.

AIK has sold 18-year-old Zadok Yohanna to Premier League club Brighton. The deal is described as the most expensive ever in the Allsvenskan.

AIK has signed 22-year-old defenseman Edvin Isén to a two-season agreement running through the 2027/28 season. The move makes permanent his earlier loan stint with the HockeyAllsvenskan club, where he recorded two assists in nine games. Isén joins from Tyresö/Hanviken after a strong performance of 25 points in 35 regular-season matches.

Reigning Swedish champions Skellefteå AIK have added forward Andro Kaderli on a two-year deal. The 20-year-old moves from Leksand after one SHL season. He will remain in the top flight rather than return to Switzerland.

Defenseman Alexander Anderberg will not stay with Östersunds IK after failing to receive a new contract offer, despite his willingness to take a pay cut. Interest from Västerås and AIK has emerged for the hard-shooting back, who recorded 29 points in 49 games this season. Meanwhile, AIK forward Oliver Tärnström appears headed for the exit after two seasons, with Mora leading the pursuit.
