After signing with the Steelers in March, safety Jaquan Brisker said the new defensive system aligns well with his playing style and should allow for a smoother transition.
Brisker, a second-round pick in 2022, started 52 games for the Bears and recorded four interceptions along with seven sacks. An injury limited him to five games in 2024, but he delivered a strong playoff performance against the Los Angeles Rams.
The Steelers defense finished 26th in yards allowed in 2025. Brisker said the new system suits his style better than previous ones. "I feel like this system fits me a lot better, so it’s gonna be smoother," he said.
Pittsburgh plans to use Brisker flexibly in the secondary alongside DeShon Elliott. The move could also free Jalen Ramsey to shift positions more often under new defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.
