Kirsten Storms written off 'General Hospital' amid personal issues

Kirsten Storms has been written off the soap opera General Hospital. Her character Maxie Jones will move to Australia, as revealed in Thursday's episode.

The decision follows Storms' announcement last month that she would not return to the show. She cited ongoing personal challenges involving her ex-husband in an Instagram post.

"Given what's been going on, I can't say I will feel comfortable heading back to Los Angeles and returning to work," Storms wrote. "This has been an eye opening experience about the downside of my profession."

In April, her ex-husband Brandon Barash obtained a restraining order against her. He alleged she was experiencing a mental health crisis, which led to him gaining custody of their daughter Harper Rose with supervised visitation for Storms.

Storms responded on social media Sunday, describing the situation as a disagreement between ex-spouses that would be resolved. She asked the public not to speculate further.
