KPop Demon Hunters won the Motion Pictures — Animated award at the 62nd Annual Cinema Audio Society Awards on March 7, 2026, hosted by Chris Hardwick at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. As covered in our initial report on the winners, the film triumphed alongside F1: The Movie (live-action) and Becoming Led Zeppelin (documentary), celebrating top sound professionals.
The winning sound team for KPop Demon Hunters included Original Dialogue Mixer Howard London CAS, Re-Recording Mixers Michael Babcock CAS and Tony Lamberti, Scoring Mixer Erich Talaba, and Foley Mixer Giorgi Lekishvili.
CAS President Peter Kurland opened the ceremony, stating, “Tonight we celebrate the very best of our profession. Sound mixing demands both technical skill and artistic intent, and these honorees exemplify the precision, creativity, and discipline that define our craft. We are proud to recognize professionals whose dedication and excellence continue to elevate the standard for our industry.”

Rizzo CAS and Juan Peralta, Scoring Mixer Alan Meyerson CAS, ADR Mixer Alan Freedman CAS, and Foley Mixer Dennis Leonard; for Becoming Led Zeppelin (Documentary) — Production Sound Mixer Nigel Albermaniche and Re-Recording Mixer Nick Bergh.
Television winners were The Pitt (“7:00 PM,” season 1) for One Hour Series; The Studio (“Golden Globes,” season 1) for Half Hour Series; Adolescence (season 1, episode 1) for Non-Theatrical Motion Pictures or Limited Series; and Billy Joel: And So It Goes (“Part One,” episode 1) for Non-Fiction, Variety or Music.
Special awards included the CAS Career Achievement Award to Skip Lievsay, Filmmaker Award to Guillermo del Toro, inaugural Jeffrey S. Wexler Award for Advancement in Sound Technology to Evan Brooks, Peter Gotcher, Glenn Sanders, and Howard Stark, and the CAS Student Recognition Award ($5,000) to Mingxi Xu.
CAS Awards frequently predict Oscar success, as with past winners like A Complete Unknown (2025) and Oppenheimer (2024). F1: The Movie is nominated for Best Sound at the 2026 Oscars with Frankenstein, One Battle After Another, Sinners, and Sirat.
