National deputy Federico Pelli from La Libertad Avanza was headbutted while on a solidarity tour in La Madrid, Tucumán, to assist families affected by floods. The aggressor was detained by provincial police, and the ruling party linked him to a political operative close to the Tucumán Interior Minister. Pelli suffered a nasal septum fracture and received medical attention.
The incident took place on March 11, 2026, when Federico Pelli arrived in La Madrid with deputies Gerardo Huesen and Soledad Molinuevo to deliver mattresses and other supplies to families affected by a storm that hit southern Tucumán. According to videos circulating on social media, a man confronted Pelli as he tried to enter the area and headbutted him, leaving him on the ground bleeding.
Deputy Soledad Molinuevo recounted the event in an interview with LN+: “We came with a truck of donations and as we were approaching to deliver the goods, this man wouldn't let us pass. Federico said to him: ‘Who are you?’ And the man said he was the one who wouldn't let him pass.” Molinuevo added that Tucumán's Interior Minister, Darío Monteros, was 20 meters away in a tent, and described the impact: “Federico fell to the floor semi-conscious. I thought he had killed him, the headbutt was tremendous.”
After the assault, Pelli was attended by an ambulance and taken to Concepción hospital, where a nasal septum fracture was confirmed. He was later transferred to a private clinic in San Miguel de Tucumán. Sources from the La Libertad Avanza bloc, led by Gabriel Bornoroni, identified the aggressor as a political operative linked to Monteros and repudiated the attack: “No act of violence will stop our actions in any province, no matter how much politics opposes it. We hope Justice acts.”
President Javier Milei shared the video on his social media. Governor Osvaldo Jaldo condemned the violence: “Violence has no place in our democratic life or in coexistence among Tucumans. We stand in solidarity with him and his family.” Jaldo confirmed the attacker's detention, who was placed at the disposal of Justice. The deputies filed complaints at a police station and with federal Justice.
