Laura Camila Trujillo signs as Gigante candidate for Bambuco pageant

Laura Camila Trujillo Castro signed the official document making her Gigante's representative for the 65th Reinado Departamental del Bambuco. The ceremony took place on Friday at the Plazoleta de Banderas of the Huila Governor's Office.

Accompanied by family and a municipal delegation, Trujillo attended the protocol ceremony at 4:00 p.m. Carolina Forero, general coordinator of the Festival del Bambuco, welcomed her and reminded her of the mission to represent Huila culture.

The 18-year-old from the Alto Tres Esquinas village studies Oral Health Assistance and works at a ceramics and strawberry cream shop. She expressed pride in her rural roots and the tourism potential of Gigante's cacao and coffee.

The municipality aims for its third crown in the contest. Social Development Secretary Luis Carlos Peña and acting Mayor Fenivar Salazar Flórez voiced support for the candidate and highlighted Gigante's tradition in these events.
