Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Switch 2 port delayed to early 2026

Dragami Games has delayed the Switch 2 port of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP from November 2025 to early 2026. The decision stems from strong demand for a physical edition, prompting the studio to align digital and physical releases. The remaster, which launched in 2024 on other platforms, features updated graphics and faster gameplay.

Delay Announcement

Dragami Games announced the postponement of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP for Nintendo's Switch 2 on November 14, 2025. Originally slated for a November launch, the port is now expected in early 2026. The developer cited overwhelming requests for a physical version of the RePOP remaster as the primary reason, choosing to synchronize all release formats to meet fan expectations.

"We sincerely apologize for the extended wait and any inconvenience this may cause. We appreciate your understanding and continued support," Dragami Games stated in their official announcement.

Game Background

Lollipop Chainsaw, originally released in 2012, follows cheerleader Juliet Starling as she battles zombies with her chainsaw. The story was co-written by James Gunn, now co-CEO of DC Studios and director of the recent Superman reboot, and Goichi Suda, known as Suda51. Neither contributed to the RePOP edition.

The 2024 RePOP remaster debuted on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, bringing enhanced graphics and quicker chainsaw mechanics. This Switch 2 version marks the game's arrival on Nintendo's latest hardware, which has sold over 10 million units since launch, making it the company's fastest-selling console and nearing the all-time sales record of the DS.

Implications

The delay ensures a unified launch but extends the wait for Switch 2 owners eager for this cult classic. With the console's strong performance, the port arrives amid high interest in Nintendo's ecosystem.
