Man arrested after threatening woman with traumatic pistol in El Juncal

A 40-year-old man was arrested in the rural district of El Juncal in Palermo, Huila, after threatening a woman with a traumatic pistol late on Friday night.

Authorities arrested the suspect minutes after the intimidation occurred, following a report to the Policía Metropolitana de Neiva. The 40-year-old man allegedly threatened the victim with a firearm-type traumatic pistol of the brand Ekol Firat Magnum K.

Officers seized the weapon during the operation and kept it as evidence. The detainee was handed over to Fiscalía 52 Local URI de Neiva to proceed with the investigation for the crime of intrafamily violence.

Colonel Héctor Jairo Betancourt Rojas, commander of the Policía Metropolitana de Neiva, urged the community to report such incidents promptly and stated that security forces will continue to protect women and families.
