Man sprays colorless liquid on woman in Sapporo park

Police in Sapporo are searching for a man who sprayed a colorless, odorless liquid on a woman's face in Nakajima Park on Saturday night. The 47-year-old victim was unharmed, according to authorities. Officials are reviewing surveillance footage to identify the suspect.

The incident took place around 11 p.m. on Saturday near a bridge in Nakajima Park, Chuo Ward, Sapporo, Hokkaido Broadcasting Corp reported. A 47-year-old woman walking alone heard a man behind her say "Excuse me" before he sprayed a liquid on her face as she turned around.

The man fled immediately. The woman suffered no injuries from the colorless, odorless substance. Police have not identified what the liquid was.

Officers are examining street surveillance camera footage in the area to track down the suspect. Authorities are seeking witnesses or additional information.

The episode has drawn attention to safety concerns for women in parks at night.
