Mexico's U-20 national team began its CONCACAF Championship campaign with a 3-0 win over Antigua and Barbuda at Estadio Cuauhtémoc. The side coached by Alex Diego controlled the match from the start and leads Group B.
Hugo Camberos opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the first half. He later assisted Francisco Valenzuela for the second goal, and Santiago Sandoval added the third after a rival mistake.
Mexico kept control in the second half though it reduced intensity. Goalkeeper Sebastián Liceaga prevented a consolation goal with a strong save late on.
The result positions Mexico as the defending champion in the category and moves it closer to qualifying for the 2027 U-20 World Cup and the 2028 Olympics. The team will face Costa Rica on Monday, July 27.
