Minister states no doubts about Sicario suicide

Justice Minister Wellington Cesar Lima stated on Tuesday that investigations confirm the suicide of Luiz Philip Mourão, known as Sicario, while in Federal Police custody.

The statement was made during a hearing at the Public Security Commission of the Chamber of Deputies. According to the minister, expert reports left no doubts about the cause of death. Mourão was arrested on March 4 in Operation Compliance Zero. He attempted suicide and died on March 6 at Hospital João XXIII in Belo Horizonte. The minister indicated that some details of the case remain under secrecy and may be disclosed in the future. Mourão was pointed out as an ally of Daniel Vorcaro, former owner of Banco Master.
