Modest Mouse releases new album An Eraser and a Maze

Modest Mouse has released its first album since 2021. Frontman Isaac Brock discussed the record and the death of founding drummer Jeremiah Green in a recent interview.

The Portland indie band issued An Eraser and a Maze through its own label Glacial Pace. The album features an abrasive guitar sound and contributions from producers Jacknife Lee, Justin Raisen and Suzy Shinn. Green died of cancer in December 2022. The current lineup includes Ben Massarella on percussion, Russell Higbee on bass and guitar, and Simon O’Connor on guitar. Brock said the band is touring North America with dates running through October. He also mentioned plans for a follow-up record tentatively titled Shadows in the Shade.
