Neon Odyssey sets TTRPG Kickstarter funding record at $15.2m

Avantris Entertainment's Neon Odyssey has become the most-funded tabletop roleplaying game Kickstarter campaign ever after raising more than $15.2 million from over 46,000 backers.

The 30-day campaign far exceeded its $60,000 goal by more than 25,000 percent. It secured full funding within seconds of launch and collected over $3 million in the first three hours. Co-founder Mikey Gilder said the outcome was difficult to process. “Neon Odyssey started as this big, ridiculous dream of building a massive science-fantasy universe for people to play in, and the community showed up for it in a way we’ll never forget,” he said. The project previously trailed the Cosmere RPG, which raised $15.15 million in 2024. Neon Odyssey is designed for Dungeons & Dragons 5.5E and is scheduled for delivery to backers in 2027. Avantris also announced that media personality Todd Kenreck has joined the company as Director of Media.
