British Showjumping has introduced a national 95cm championship for the upcoming Nationals at Stoneleigh Park. The new event will run alongside existing classes from 4 to 9 August.
The addition follows the creation of a third surfaced arena at the venue. It targets combinations eligible for the bronze league and includes preliminary rounds plus a final.
Qualification requires four double clears at 90cm or above between 1 January and 30 June this year. The championships will also feature the teams and para events in the new arena.
Stephanie Toogood, national director of sport at British Showjumping, said the move enhances the experience for members. Emma Williams, event director at Grandstand Media, noted the investment in infrastructure to expand the programme.
Further details on qualification and schedules are expected soon.
