New asian american historical fiction books set for 2026 release

Four upcoming novels by asian american authors will highlight key moments in aapi history this year.

Publishers are preparing to release several works of historical fiction focused on asian american experiences. The first, daughters of the sun and moon by lisa see, is scheduled for june 9 2026 and follows three women in post civil war los angeles. Two more titles, fishbone cinderella by elizabeth lim and when mikan road was ours by d k furutani, both arrive on july 28 2026. The chinese lady by bo wang is set for september 8 2026 and recounts the story of afong moy, the first chinese woman brought to the united states in the 1830s.
