Nine-year-old Agnès Baldeck obtains Brevet des collèges through homeschooling

On July 10, Agnès Baldeck became one of the youngest French students to obtain the Brevet des collèges with honors. Homeschooled, she follows a flexible home education led by her mother.

Agnès, aged nine, passed the exam on July 10 with a score of 15.85. Her family, based in La Chapelle Blanche in Savoie, uses Montessori methods, old textbooks and songs generated by Artificial Intelligence.

Her parents, Nicolas Baldeck, a computer scientist, and Katya, a mathematician, chose this path due to their disappointment with the French school system. They plan to move abroad within the year.

The Brevet des collèges also serves as proof of level for home education, which the family fears may be restricted. Nicolas had announced the registration on X on July 2.
