The Guerreros Buscadores de Jalisco collective announced the discovery of numerous human remains in a septic tank at Rancho Izaguirre in Teuchitlán. The amount exceeds that found last year, with bone evidence at 80 centimeters depth. So far, 95 to 98 unique DNA samples have been identified.
Guerreros Buscadores de Jalisco, along with other groups, re-entered Rancho Izaguirre and opened a septic tank where they found molars, dental plates, and other bone remains. "In this occasion, the quantity of remains located is much greater than last year, which evidences the real magnitude of what occurred in this place," the collective reported on social media.
The site, operated by the Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG), has yielded 95 to 98 unique DNA samples so far. Two people have been identified through remains analysis, with more areas to probe at depths of 2.5 to 3 meters.
Over a year ago, collectives demanded intervention after finding clothing of the disappeared. Authorities, including the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR), have been transparent, detaining 47 people linked to the ranch and 70 youths allegedly recruited by organized crime in related raids.
"The forced recruitment, the deaths and everything they were forced to do in that place. The way of operating is now coming to light. This confirms once again: the earth speaks and does not lie. The work continues and we will re-enter. We will not stop," wrote Guerreros Buscadores.
