Spanish rider Eduardo Alvarez Aznar has announced the death of his former Olympic mount Legend at age 15.

Legend, a Belgian warmblood gelding, represented Spain at the Tokyo Olympics and the 2021 European Championships. Alvarez Aznar took over the ride in 2019 and achieved multiple top-10 finishes in five-star events with the horse, including third places in Paris and Shanghai. Their final competition was the Global Champions Tour leg in Marrakech, where they placed 10th in the grand prix.
