OnePlus 15R to launch in India tonight

OnePlus is set to launch the OnePlus 15R smartphone and OnePlus Pad Go 2 tablet in India tonight at 7 PM IST. The 15R features the world's first Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and a 7400mAh battery. The base variant is expected to start around Rs 47,000.

The OnePlus 15R is designed for premium segment buyers in India, while the OnePlus Pad Go 2 offers an affordable option for budget users like students and young professionals. The launch event is scheduled for December 17, 2025, at 7 PM IST. The company has already revealed several specifications, but pricing and variants will be announced today.

The OnePlus 15R features a 165Hz refresh rate 1.5K AMOLED display, enhancing gaming and multitasking experiences. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, making it the world's first such smartphone. The 32MP front camera with autofocus supports 4K video recording at 30fps, while the rear setup includes a 50MP primary sensor and likely a telephoto lens capable of 4K 120fps video. It packs a 7400mAh battery with 80W fast charging. For durability, it has IP66/68/69K ratings. Available in Charcoal Black, Mint Green, and Ace Edition in Electric Violet, it may offer up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. This follows the recent launch of the OnePlus 15 as a more affordable model in the series.

Launching alongside is the OnePlus Pad Go 2, powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra processor with a stylus and 12.1-inch display featuring 7:5 aspect ratio, 900 nits brightness, 98% DCI-P3 color coverage, and 88.5% screen-to-body ratio. It supports Dolby Vision and Open Canvas software for seamless multitasking with split-screen modes. The 10,050mAh battery comes with 33W charging. Sales begin December 18, with prices expected under Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000.
