Our hero balthazar begins nationwide theatrical rollout

The dark social satire Our Hero, Balthazar is expanding across theaters nationwide this week after a steady build following its Tribeca debut last year. Director Oscar Boyson drew from real events and his own indie film experiences to shape the story of a performative teen trying to stop a potential school shooter.

The film stars Jaeden Martell as Balthazar, who creates emotional videos about gun violence before heading to Texas to confront someone he suspects may be planning an attack, played by Asa Butterfield. It opened in limited release on March 26 through Picturehouse and WG Pictures and is set to reach more cities starting Friday.
