Patriarchs in Black release new video for 'I’m Coming Home'

Doom metal band Patriarchs in Black has unveiled their new single 'I’m Coming Home,' featuring an official music video on Metalville's YouTube channel. The track brings back vocalist Frankie Diaz and introduces harmonica to the band's sound. Guitarist Dan Lorenzo describes it as an original take on the classic 12-bar blues structure.

Song Details

'I’m Coming Home' is a 12-bar blues song written by guitarist Dan Lorenzo. He explains, "People might think it’s easy to write a 12-bar blues song, but in all honesty, you have to do something to make it original and unique because it’s been done so many times before. I think I accomplish that, if I may say so myself." The single features vocals by Frankie Diaz, drums by Johnny Kelly, and bass by Sal. This marks the first Patriarchs in Black song to include harmonica.

Lorenzo notes that the track was intended for their recent album but didn't fit due to space constraints: "I really wanted this song to be on Home, but we didn’t have enough room."

Band Background

Patriarchs in Black was founded at the end of 2021 by drummer Johnny Kelly (formerly of Type O Negative and Danzig) and guitarist Dan Lorenzo (from Hades and Non-Fiction). Their debut single 'Demon of Regret' arrived in January 2022, followed by the album Reach For The Scars in July 2022. Subsequent releases include My Veneration in October 2023 and Visioning in July 2024.

The band's fourth album, Home, was released in August 2025 via Metalville. Lorenzo reflects on the album's theme: "I picked the title Home because as much as I love to travel, it’s always nice to come home." He also mentions experimenting with acoustic guitars, violin, flute, and heavy riffs for diversity, inspired partly by personal loss: "Johnny’s mom died last year. Some would say the Lord took her Home."

The video for 'I’m Coming Home' is available on Metalville's official YouTube channel.
