Person dead in head-on collision with truck outside Sala

A truck and a passenger car collided head-on on road 56 near Isätra in Sala municipality shortly after 9 p.m. on Tuesday evening, April 14.

The car driver died in the crash. A total of two people were traveling in the vehicles. According to the alert, the car was on fire and fully ablaze when rescuers arrived, said Helen Wickberg, team leader at SOS Alarm, to SVT Nyheter.

Police, ambulance, and rescue services were called to the scene. Police reported later that evening that the car driver had died and that relatives had been notified. The accident caused a total traffic stop, and the road remained closed late into the evening for cleanup and towing.

Police will investigate the crash.
